  • Microsoft Tips for Accessibility

    Not only do Microsoft 365 applications have a built in accessibility checker but they have also implemented immersive reader. Its is a great tool for reading Word documents, PowerPoint slides, your OneNote pages, out loud! It even works on web pages when you use Edge. The immersive reader is a full-screen reading experience to increase the readability of content. It was designed to support students with dyslexia and dysgraphia in the classroom, but it can help anyone who wants to increase their fluency or needs help decoding more complex texts.     We currently have access to the following JISC vocational training resources, Construction Training and Digital and IT Training. Created by FE and Skills practitioners, both provide interactive digital learning resources mapped to qualifications across the UK, including SVQs Levels 2 and 3. Access the resources here: Construction Training ​Digital and IT Training An OpenAthens password is required to access these resources. Please contact Library staff at your campus or email library@wcs.ac.uk to request a password if you do not have one.

    We currently have access to SCRAN, an online learning ​service that provides access to Scotland's culture and heritage through 500, 000 rights-cleared images and media from museums, galleries and archives. SCRAN can be accessed automatically through the college network or remotely with an OpenAthens account.
